Having good luck using baby powder as a release. Some minor bonding requiring 030 to be cut to get plug out. All first pulls are waste molds so no big deal. Hence 030 HIPS. Just need a first off to cast some resin in for tooling then it's the human CNC errr... dremel time.

Well not always a waste Gris but these foam protos are. I'm pulling them in very thin 030 material which is inexpensive but renders very good detail. However the plastic really holds the plug so I have to cut a corner to get it out. Re-glue it then cast resin or plaster. The resin or plaster picks up the detail from the thin mold then I dremel for more detailed lines of separation etc. The resin or plaster cast will then become the tool I pull future molds from.
